An accomplished business owner and investor in Bend, Oregon, Douglas Layman spent seven years as the president of Kadix Systems. After launching the business with an initial investment of just $100, he grew the company into a $50 million enterprise with four locations and over 350 employees. Under the leadership of Douglas Layman, Kadix twice featured on Inc. Magazine’s Inc. 500 list of America’s fastest-growing businesses. The Bend, Oregon, business leader continued to drive operations at the security and information technology until the company’s award-winning acquisition by Dynamics Research Corporation.

Before his time at Kadix, Douglas Layman was the founder and CEO of CareerRewards. He raised $12.5 million in capital and facilitated an acquisition within two years of launch. Since 2010, he has emphasized angel investing, capital management, and project consulting as a managing partner at Arve Capital Advisors in Arlington, Virginia.

Douglas Layman studied industrial engineering at Oregon State University in Corvallis. He was a member of the Cardinal Key and Thanes honorary societies, as well as the Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society. He continued his education at Georgetown University, earning a master of business administration. His interests include kiteboarding, exploring, and spending time on the water.
